Cult
(Drama/Thriller, Mid-Season)
Investigative journalist Jeff Sefton (Matt Davis) has learned to laugh off his brother Nate’s relentless string of obsessions, especially his latest rant that a hit TV show intends to harm him.
However, when his brother mysteriously disappears, Jeff takes Nate’s paranoia seriously, and in the process uncovers the dark underworld of the TV show “Cult” and its rabid fans.
The only person who seems willing to help Jeff with his investigation is Skye (Jessica Lucas), a young research assistant for “Cult,” who has also started to grow suspicious of the increasingly dark happenings surrounding the show.
As Jeff and Skye dig deeper into the fan world, they discover that the gruesome plot twists on television are much more than fantasy for some very unfortunate people. Alona Tal and Robert Knepper also star.

e real world. As Jeff and Skye dig deeper into the fan world, they discover that the gruesome plot twists on television are much more than fantasy for some very unfortunate people. The hardcore fans of “Cult” would kill to see what happens next…
The series stars Matt Davis (“The Vampire Diaries”) as Jeff Sefton, Jessica Lucas (“Melrose Place,” “Cloverfield”) as Skye Yarrow, Alona Tal (“Supernatural,” “The Killing”) as Kelly Collins and Robert Knepper ( “Prison Break,” “Shameless”) as Billy Grimm.
CULT is from Fake Empire and Rockne S. O’Bannon Television in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, with executive producers Rockne S. O’Bannon (“Farscape,” “V”), Josh Schwartz (“Chuck,” “Gossip Girl”), Stephanie Savage (“Hart of Dixie,” “Gossip Girl”), Len Goldstein (“Hart of Dixie”) and Jason Ensler (“Franklin & Bash,” “Hart of Dixie”). The pilot was directed by Jason Ensler and written by Rockne S. O’Bannon.

@ErnestoRiley ‘s new project, Cult, has been picked up
While we heard earlier this week that the Pilot episode that was shot in Vancouver got “Cult” picked up, Matt announced today at the CW Upfront that it will be a mid-season series this time around. No word yet on what the air date will be. I don’t know about you, but I know that I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for the pilot and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it will be picked up for a second season.

We’d like to wish a very happy birthday to Matt Davis and hope that everything you’re wishing for comes to be this year. His fans can see his wish list to Barak Obama here or wish him a great day by tweeting him here. It’s nice to know that his fans acknowledged his birthday and were eager to celebrate with him. Not only did Matt receive cupcakes from some fans at his hotel but “Happy Birthday Ernesto Riley” was a World Wide Trending Topic today (Matt’s tweet and capture of the WWTT shown below).

‘Vampire Diaries’ Co-Star Matt Davis Cast As The Male Lead In CW Drama Pilot ‘Cult’
The CW and Warner Bros TV kept the search for the male lead in their buzzed-about new pilot Cult in-house. Matt Davis, co-star of the hit CW/WBTV series The Vampire Diaries, is set to star opposite Jessica Lucas in the pilot, which WBTV co-produces with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire. Written by Rockne O’Bannon, Cult centers on Skye (Lucas), an inquisitive young production assistant on a wildly popular television show called Cult. After a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, she joins Jeff (Davis), a journalist blogger whose brother was among those gone missing, in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life. In addition to starring in Cult, Davis will be available to make guest appearances in future seasons of Vampire Diaries, where he plays high school history teacher/vampire hunter Alaric Saltzman. He is with Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment.
